Miguel Hernández Communication Journal will publish a special issue on high-tech journalism edited by Novos Medios researchers

Miguel Hernández Communication Journal has opened a call for papers inviting scholars to explore one of the major challenges of today’s media ecosystem: the integration of disruptive technologies into journalistic practice and their professional, organizational, and ethical implications.

From the rise of tools such as ChatGPT to immersive journalism, as well as the use of drones and blockchain, high technology is profoundly reshaping newsrooms. This special issue aims to bring together research that analyzes these transformations, focusing not only on innovation but also on responsibility and the ethical challenges they entail.

This special issue is coordinated by Beatriz Gutiérrez Caneda, Jorge Vázquez Herrero, and João Canavilhas. The submission deadline is October 1, 2026, and manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s platform. More information is available on the journal’s website.
