Professor Maite Mercado, a researcher at the University of Valencia and a recognized expert in environmental communication, has recently joined the ADS team (Algorithmic Cultures, Data Ecologies, and Synthetic Media) of the Novos Medios Research Group at the University of Santiago de Compostela as a visiting researcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her stay takes place within the framework of the DataECO project (ATR2024-154984), funded through the ATRAE program of the Spanish State Research Agency, in which she also serves as a member of the Advisory Committee. In this context, she will collaborate on the development of analyses of media coverage of the construction of data centers, with particular attention to journalistic narratives, solutions journalism, and the environmental challenges associated with digital infrastructures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her visit also helps to strengthen the ADS team\u2019s research lines and to consolidate the DataECO project (ATR2024-154984) as a leading reference for the study of the intersections between technology, the environment, and communication.<\/p>\n\n\n
